Ana Ferreira

Ana Sofia D. Ferreira graduated in Chemistry at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa in 2004, where she also obtained her PhD in Chemistry (21.09.2011). Her PhD work was on the synthesis, characterization, and reactivity of palladium (II) or platinum (II) camphorimine complexes towards the activation of triple bonds, under the supervision of Prof M. Fernanda N.N. Carvalho. During that time, AS Ferreira, gained expertise both in organic and organometallic synthesis, metal-catalyzed homogeneous catalysis (reactivity and kinetics) and electrochemistry. During the PhD A.S. Ferreira relied strongly in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy, both for structural elucidation and for in-situ reaction monitoring. In 2012 A.S. Ferreira pursued a change in scientific field, joining Prof. Eurico Cabrita's group, first with a research grant (2012), and then in a post-doctoral fellowship (2013-2018). Her main research interests are on the application of NMR methodology (liquid-state and HR-MAS) and developing theoretical models to measure diffusion, transport properties, and studying spatial/temporal molecular dynamics of low to high viscosity species in heterogeneous systems. She co-authored 23 articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals, six in the 2 last year, 1 review paper and 1 book chapter.
