Paula Videira, as well as GLYCOTwinning Consortium partner leaders, namely Yan Liu (ICL), Manfred Wuhrer (LUMC) and Jesus Jiménez-Barbero (CIC BioGUNE), researchers Noortje de Haan (LUMC) and June Ereño-Orbea (CIC bioGUNE), and members from the External Advisory Board, namely Sabine Flitsch and Anne Imberty, were present at the 8th Canadian Glycomics Symposium, which took place in Edmonton, Canada. By joining researchers and industry leaders from around the world, this event constituted a very relevant opportunity for networking.

GLYCOTwinning was invited to an important meeting intitled National and International Glycomics Organizations Workshop. This event joined 10 organizations from around the world and intended to:

• Strengthening international collaborations in the field of glycomics

• Identifying common priorities

• Discussing strategic directions and future opportunities
