Knowing how to effectively communicate research with non-experts requires a certain skillset.
This workshop on Science Communication & Public Engagement will provide researchers with core tools and techniques to help them communicate their research to a variety of different audiences. This course intends to introduce researchers to institutional communication, audiovisual potential and effective techniques to communicate science to broader audiences.

Focused on science communication and public engagement, including patient-centered communication, the course will address the following topics:

  • Institutional communication in a research unit;

  • Defining communication goals, understanding different audiences and crafting a key message.

  • Audiovisual productions: from building a script to creating an impactful audiovisual work.

  • Methods adn techniques to engage the public and with a broader audience: storytelling and elevator pitch

  • Platforms and Channels available
